What Do You Have In Store For 2013?

13

2013So, here we are in 2013 and already the busiest week at the gym is over and no doubt some people’s resolutions have already been quashed! What do you have in store for 2013?

This will be what everyone will be asking themselves this time of year, everyone tries to do things differently, tries to aim a bit higher. Whether it be lose weight, eat healthier, quit smoking or even improve their careers most people would have set some new goals. Most fail within the first month. This is why I will be addressing my goals each month – and having a big re-think in March.

So what about in the online industry? Well, I can only speak for me but here are my thoughts and targets for the blog. I am sure some of you can relate to these – I would love to hear your thoughts, and targets of your own.

Focus More on the Larger Projects

For the larger projects I think last year I tried to take too much on and the results of each project suffered I think, so my plan now is to take on one thing at a time. For my larger projects I will be using SeeGoal – a free project management tool. This allows me to break down the big tasks into smaller achievable ones.

The key with this is to follow S.M.A.R.T objectives. Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant & Time-Bound.

Stop Promoting Any MLM Campaigns

I have decided that I am no longer going to promote any more of my MLM campaigns, the fact is I am really only in one that makes me any money – Banners Broker. And I only sponsor a couple of people. Whilst the pay cheques are nice each month I cannot see it being a sustainable project for me. I would rather put my efforts elsewhere. Note: I am not saying that the company is about to fold or anything daft like that – this is just my decision.

Use Facebook More!

Whilst I have had a personal Facebook account for a while I have not really integrated it with my blog. Well, that is not strictly true – some of you may remember I did make a page a couple of months back but it was rushed and I did not like it. It is time to do it properly this time. What has put me off is the inevitable “trolls” or haters that will no doubt give their stupid comments. But, who cares? – Not me anymore. So – the Facebook page is now live.

I could really do with some “likes” to kick things off……:-) I have put a small discreet button below.

Finish Product and Launch It!

I have been writing an eBook that I think will be a real help for a certain niche group. I am quite excited about it. I have not decided whether to sell it, give it away, or use it as a JV with some other bloggers. But what I do know is that I have not seen one like it before (and I have read a lot!) so I can’t wait to finish this. I want to make sure the launch is done right, for this I will be seeking the help of some well-respected marketers – who I trust.

I would also like to launch a further two more products in 2013.

Guest Post / Welcome Guest Posting

The start of 2012 I wrote several guest posts for some blogs that I read – this was great, the interaction with other bloggers was awesome. I got a lot out of this, and my blog gained some useful links and exposure.

One post I wrote even made the Top 20 of the Year on the Online Income Teacher Blog.

I have also opened up Guest posting slots here at my own blog, if you are interested in writing a post and getting some exposure for your own site or blog then I would love to hear from you.

The terms and conditions are here.

Get a Mentor / Join Membership Site

In order to take my online ventures to the next step I have decided to get some valued help. I have short-listed two membership sites that I am going to be looking at and using in the next few months. Which one will get my full attention will depend on what I get out of it after a couple of months.

First up the Chris Farrell Membership site. This guy is awesome, there is not much that he doesn’t know about the Internet Marketing world. Also, his course has been voted #1 IM coaching program for the last 3 years. I have already joined and what I have seen so far is quite incredible. Whether you are a complete newbie or even an experienced marketer the content and tools inside will blow your socks off!

Some highlights include:

  • Free Unlimited Hosting
  • Done For You Websites
  • Step By Step Traffic
  • 21 Days To Success
  • 24/7 Support
  • Voted #1 IM Coaching Program
  • Video Victory

There are tons more – enough content in here actually that you will not struggle to find an answer to anything!

Next up is Rob Cornish’s Gain Higher Ground Membership. I really like Rob’s teaching methods, and I am a big fan of his blog. I met him at a conference and it was his words actually that inspired me to start this blog. Rather than saying “just build a list” or “just get traffic to your site” Rob actually shows you step by step largely with the use of video. His membership site has a staggering 98.1% customer satisfaction, considering most IM products have a 30-50% refund rate this just shows his methods actually work.

Some highlights include:

  • An exact and proven roadmap
  • Step By Step Video Tutorials
  • Not need to be “technical”
  • Shortcuts and Automation techniques
  • On-going training and full support
  • 15 steps to success
  • The Content Factory

Like I mentioned I am already in Chris Farrell’s, but I don’t think I could split the two. Both you can test drive for just a few dollars (I think Chris’ was even one dollar) – this is well worth doing. I will most definitely be testing Rob’s out too later in the year. Looking forward to working with both of them.

So, this is my plan – what is in store for you this year? I would love to hear your comments.

  1. There are too many things available to do in online marketing but first of all for that you need to polish yourself completely with your good business ideas. Then you can proceed and do something better for your site/blog.

  2. Looks like birds of a feather flocking together, John!

Firstly a warm and sincere New Year greeting to you and the family.

I made 2 last-quarter resolutions last year to become more active on Facebook. I give credit for the inspiration to your decision to have a page. I also shifted my blog to my website and would love to hear from you about it. (http://karmicallycoaching.com/blog/) after reading the wonderful free ebooks you sent me.

There is one resolution that I have for 2013 which I would like to share which again is similar to your list. To focus only of those social media where my niche clients congregate rather than spread myself thin and end up loosing direction.

Looking forward to more great blog posts from you in the coming weeks!

    • Hi Vatsala!

Great to hear you got some great tips from the eBooks. If there is anything else I can help you with get in touch.

I think your blog looks great – in fact I could do with taking on some of the advice you write. It comes together really nicely with the rest of the website. The social shares look great and I have no doubt that it will be a success.

I wish you all the best for 2013 – I will speak to you soon.

      Best Regards,
      John

  3. Hi John,

Great post! Always good to make plans at the start of the year, so great idea of making it into a post.

I wouldn’t worry about trolls on Facebook. I had similar thoughts when I started, but I haven’t had a single one and that’s on ALL of my social media sites. People won’t troll you as you are genuinely trying to help people. Most of the time people will get in touch to ask questions or to get advice. That best part about helping these people is that they will usually become regular readers as you took the time to help them.

Thanks for the links and more importantly the guest posts that you wrote last year. Keep up the great work, 2013 looks set to be a good year! 🙂

    • Hi Matt,

Great to hear form you. Most welcome on the links – it was relevant after all.

Good advice about the Facebook thing – I am just going to go for it, if people don’t like what I have to say then so be it. I will definitely be in touch soon about further posts. Good luck for all your challenges this year!

      Speak soon

    • Hi Joe,

Thanks for dropping by. Just been over to your blog – great stuff going on there, tons of content.

The courses I mention in the blog are both Internet Marketing courses, geared towards making money online. The Chris Farrell site is great, shows you all the steps you need to become profitable within 30 days. Looks great – starts off basic but then gets to quite advanced traffic and sales funnel techniques.

The ways I make money online vary between affiliate marketing, MLM and I still am a huge user of eBay. I can promote to my list from time to time (rarely though), I have used YouTube to make money – most recently in the cycling niche! And I get regular checks from my Banners Broker account.

I am not really a fan of posting income reports just yet – this is why I do not really disclose it here on the blog.

However – if you have any questions I will be happy to answer them.

      Just send me an email.

      Regards,
      John

  4. It’s quite surprising to see that companies still haven’t realized the worth of social media website like Facebook. And while they lay there focus on websites like twitters, pinterest etc, they continue to ignore Facebook which is accessed by far greater number of people.

    • I agree Abhishek, its great that you mention it. I just wish I had it set up properly when I done it the first time.

      Thanks for dropping by!

  5. Hi John

    Happy new year to you!

Great post here! Funnily enough some of the stuff I’m looking at doing as well – eg. my ebook is almost finished, I’m looking at guest posting, and I’m also looking for a mentor! A friend is also trying to get me into Banners Broker (tho’ I’m not sure), so it’s interesting to see it mentioned here. And good advice about focusing on larger projects too. Facebook? Must say I’m not convinced on that one as it’s a tough one to crack these days!

So much to do, so little time!!

Wishing you all the best this year John! Neat site you have here…
    Cheers
    Lil 🙂

    • Hi Lillian,

Great to see you here – having looked at your site (great by the way) I have no doubt you will achieve those targets you have set yourself!

As for BB – it has been making me money for over six months now, but for how much longer? I do know, however of people making a huge amount with this site.

Surprised to see you are not to keen on Facebook? I must admit its taken me a long time to get into it – but I am going to use it more this year.

Wishing you all the best for 2013

      Regards,
      John
